Is it worth restoring wood doors and windows?
Absolutely. Original windows and doors were made from superior, old-growth timber. With proper restoration and maintenance, they'll give you many more decades of service.

Historic restoration companies are often highly specialized — they'll pull windows, restore offsite, and reinstall, but won't touch the surrounding trim, casings, plaster, and paint that often needs work. That leaves homeowners hunting for a second contractor to finish the job. We handle it end-to-end.
We're also able to take on smaller jobs. Many of our competitors have substantial project minimums. If you've got one window or a single door that needs attention, give us a call.
Can you make replica windows and doors?
Yes. When a sash or door is beyond repair, or you're adding an opening and need to match what's already in the house, we can custom build them in our shop.
Do you install modern historic replacement windows?
We do. We have a working relationship with Marvin and can supply and install their windows. Marvin has wood and aluminum-clad wood options with divided-lites in their historic catalog.
How do you handle lead paint?
We're EPA Lead Renovator Certified and follow all Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) protocols.
Do you do other types of work?
Yes. VITMAR Restoration is a specialty service of VITMAR, LLC, a full-service general contractor. If your project extends beyond historic restoration into kitchens, bathrooms, additions, or anything else, we can help with that too.
